Groupthink, social science, and trolls are ruining science.

Naval Ravikant drops valuable gems every time he does a podcast interview which is rare. He avoids them so you can imagine how rare it was when he decided to do a sequel to his very first podcast on the Tim Ferris Show. Here is what I learned from his most recent interview published October 15th, 2020. I have paraphrased and transcribed the first part of this interview because I think it’s a valuable exchange about science between Naval and Tim. Naval’s comments are italicized.

I know many won’t wake up early in the morning to listen to hours of podcast shows like I do but it’s important if you have skin in the game to constantly learn and search for truth. I urge many of you who have the time to listen to the entire interview which is about 2 hours long but touches on many interesting topics from happiness, to reducing anxiety, crypto stablecoins, and crypto strategies. For the purpose of this article I’d like to focus on the science portion of the interview.

Navigating the intellectual drivel on my Twitter feed becomes tedious, I started noticing a trend that I knew was bizarre but couldn’t make much sense of it until I listened to Naval put it in context.
